started his training in the Martial Arts in 1967 at the age of 13 here in
In 1989 Sensei Burlingame saw the
need for a Martial Arts program structured for the younger children. With
this in mind he developed the “Little Warriors” Karate class. This class is
structured for the 4-7 years of age. The teachings of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu
Karate have been incorporated with simple games, activities and terminology
to make the learning simple and fun. These classes help build confidence,
increase the child’s self esteem and balance as well as advancing their
motor skill.
Having recently retired from the Medina County Sheriff’s Office (Detective
Sergeant) after 23 years of service, Sensei Burlingame is now concentrating
his efforts in continuing the teachings of this traditional form of Okinawan
Karate.
With this experience, Sensei Burlingame brings to this program one that is
both functional as well as traditional for all ages. The classes are
structured the same as in
In 1998 Sensei Burlingame
started
