Little Warriors Karate

Specially designed as an introduction to Karate for young children. This class will guide your child through basic techniques as well as  working to further develop their balance, hand-eye co-ordination, motor skills, respect, discipline and self confidence.

Children’s Karate

A great introduction to Traditional Okinawan Karate. Students will learn basic, intermediate and advanced techniques including Kata and sparring.

Akido

A course designed for the beginner as well as the advanced students.  Training does not consist of strength, speed or strength ability.  This is a perfect class for men and women of all ages  and physical abilities. This course teaches us the peaceful, non-violent resolution of conflict by combining practical self-defense movements from the traditional Japanese sword, spear, ju-jitsu and other martial arts.

Praying Mantis

 “Kung Fu”

The Chinese Martial Arts believed to be the origin of many eastern Martial Arts. Students will go through basic, intermediate and advanced techniques using hands, feet, elbows as well as learning various long and short weapons.

Iaido

This course allows the student to experience the ancient art of the samurai warrior. Students of Iaido develop excellent balance and coordination, enhanced concentration, and the ability to find the balance between knowing when to think, and when to act. Strength is not necessary to perform the techniques correctly.  Precise, crisp movements are combined with the mental focus needed to visualize your opponent.

Kali

Kali is a no nonsense warrior art that teaches effective weapon and empty hands fighting in all ranges of combat. This style of Kali a comprehensive and effective fighting art that is perfectly suited for today’s modern environment.  This class can be practiced by all people, regardless of size or gender. You will learn punching, kicking, blocking and evasion, usage of elbows and knees, entries, trapping, takedowns, throws locks, submissions, ground fighting, as well as weapon fighting and defense. The primary weapons taught are stick and palm stick. Studying the art of Kali will develop your speed, power, awareness, coordination, reflexes, and focus.

Women’s Kick Boxing and Self-Defense

A fantastic way to stay in shape or get in shape. No experience necessary, students will work at their own pace while learning various kicks, strikes and defensive techniques.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a low impact form of exercise with a meditative component. Clinical research has shown that daily practice can positively affect blood pressure and cholesterol levels. It improves mood, balance and flexibility, and strengthens bone and muscles. The design of the movements in a Tai Chi form draws awareness into the body and helps improve mental focus. A student of Tai Chi will feel relaxed and energized after each class.

Qigong

Qigong consists of techniques for dealing with human energy flow. Qigong can relieve pain, strengthen the body's constitution, improve intelligence, strengthen the body’s immune system and prolong life. It's widely accepted that exercise can promote health and prevent illnesses. Because Qigong includes both dynamic and gentle techniques that can be practiced from standing, seated, or supine postures, it is suitable for young and old. Practices can be tailored to individual needs making it an ideal aid to recovery from illness or injury.

Mixed Padded Weapons

A safe and fun class for all as well as a  great introduction to using the Katana “samurai Sword” Bo “staff”, Escrima Sticks, “shortstaffs” and Nunchaku. Students will be paired up and “spar” each other while using the weapon of their choice. No previous training is needed, also a great way to exercise.

Yoga

“Yoga Basics” is structured for the beginner students and for those who prefer practice at a moderate pace.  This class combines movement, meditation, and breathing to stimulate strength, flexibility, relaxation, and self-awareness.

Special Needs Martial Arts Classes

Achievement Martial Arts is a uniquely developed program aimed for those with special needs.  It is a “non-competitive” martial arts program that uses both aerobic and anaerobic exercise, building muscle strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. These classes help build confidence, increase self esteem, balance, advance motor skills and enhance their social skills and cognitive skills.
